Volumetric eating is the process of eating foods that have a low energy density. This means eating large volumes of low calorie dense foods. Eating foods that are not calorie dense will allow you to feel full and not feel hungry. Eating foods that are low in calories will make it easier to stay on your diet. Foods that have fats in them will give you higher densities of calories. Eating foods that contain mainly carbohydrates and proteins will provide less calories. Eating food that are mainly water, will give you the least dense foods and make you feel fuller after eating less calories. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables will help you lose weight compared to eating foods high in fats or dried foods. Remember, each gram of fat has 9 calories, each gram of carbohydrate or protein has 4 calories, each gram of water has 0 calories. |
